Looking for spring was made on a snowy day in London. I cycled on my way to a workshop, on my red old bicycle. Sliding through snow and slush on a cold February day. The view outside of the workshop space looked like idyllic postcard motif, old victorian buildings covered in a layer of snow. The red color of my bicycle made it into this drawing, the winter was long and I was looking for spring.
Now this motif hangs in my kitchen and it’s one of my most popular motives.
During long Norwegian winters and autumns, I need a pop of color and joy, some celebration of new beginnings. And this print is just that. PINK and RED, glorious colors, playful textures, a woman with flowers as glasses.
